Swing I is a progressive, semester-long series of classes. We begin each semester with the basics of Lindy Hop. From there, we build upon those first classes to learn more complex shapes, develop technique and individual style, integrate 6- and 8-count shapes, and more!
MARCH SERIES (Mar 13, 20, 27):
It’s time to learn that joyful and kicky trickster of a dance, the Charleston! Sarah Campbell Jones & Connor Cole will be introducing the basic Charleston movements and incorporating it into our 6 and 8 count lindy hop basics. We’ll be in Weiser Hall, room 268, this month!
No partner necessary. Please bring shoes with a smooth, no-grip sole.
- Price (3-week series)
- Regular: $35
- Student or Member: $30
- Student+Member: $25
- Individual class: $12
If you’re paying with cash at class, please bring exact change.
- Times: Wednesdays from 7-8pm
- Location: Varies! See Calendar
- No partner needed! No experience needed (if joining at the start of semester. If you’re hoping to join midway through the semester, keep reading!).
Because Swing I is progressive, dancers who wish to join in the middle of the semester should first take multiple Drop In classes. With the basics under your belt, it will be much easier for you to join Swing I midway through the semester.
We encourage dancers to take AT LEAST one semester’s worth of Swing I before moving on to Swing II.
