Swing I – replaced by Open Level

Screen Shot 2015-01-31 at 1.10.13 AMSwing I is a progressive, semester-long series of classes. We begin each semester with the basics of Lindy Hop. From there, we build upon those first classes to learn more complex shapes, develop technique and individual style, integrate 6- and 8-count shapes, and more! Swing I starts anew every semester, so a fresh series begins in September, January, and May.

This semester, Swing I is being replaced by an Open Level Track!

Join Val Kutchko and Connor Cole for our open level Lindy Hop series!

What’s an open level series? It’s really similar to Swing I and Swing II (it’s progressive), except it’s a COMBINED class! Material will be accessible and useful for dancers across a wide spectrum of experience. Val & Connor will provide optional concepts and add-ons that you can try – if you want – so that you can pick and choose the level of challenge that best fits your needs.

The open level series is open to anyone who has attended 4-5 beginner drop in classes and/or feels very comfortable with basic lindy hop shapes (e.g., swing outs, circles, passbys, tuck turns).

During the middle of the semester:
We encourage you to attend a few beginner drop in classes (8-9pm) to learn some basics before joining the Intro to Lindy Hop series. With the basics under your belt, it will be much easier for you to join Swing I midway through the semester.

We encourage dancers to take AT LEAST one semester’s worth of Swing I before moving on to Swing II.
