Swing I is a progressive, semester-long series of classes. We begin each semester with the basics of Lindy Hop. From there, we build upon those first classes to learn more complex shapes, develop technique and individual style, integrate 6- and 8-count shapes, and more! Swing I starts anew every semester, so a fresh series begins in September, January, and May.
MAY SERIES (May 8, 15, 22, 29): Intro to Lindy Hop
Learn how to Lindy Hop with instructors Katie Dillon & Chien-Yi Tsai! This month, we’re starting from the very beginning!
No partner necessary. Please bring shoes with a smooth, no-grip sole (Keds or Converse will work fine!).
- Price (4-week series)
- General Admission: $40
- Community SAA Member or Student: $35
- Student SAA Member: $30
- Individual class: $12
**If you’re not paying online, please bring EXACT CHANGE or CHECK to the class, or pay at the Front Desk during our Wednesday social dances!
- Times: Wednesdays from 7-8pm
- Location: TBA. See Calendar
- No partner needed! No experience needed (if joining at the start of semester. If you’re hoping to join midway through the semester, keep reading!).
Because Swing I is progressive, dancers who wish to join in the middle of the semester should first take multiple Drop In classes. With the basics under your belt, it will be much easier for you to join Swing I midway through the semester.
We encourage dancers to take AT LEAST one semester’s worth of Swing I before moving on to Swing II.
