Swing Ann Arbor continues to run through the generous support of our community members — be it time, knowledge, or spirit! Whether through DJing, teaching classes, volunteering at the front desk for Wednesday Night Swing, decorating for events, or just donating time, money, or ideas, we are always in need of volunteers to help make our community stronger and more dynamic.
Interested in giving back to the Swing Ann Arbor community? Come volunteer with us! Here is how you can help:
1. Take a shift at the Front Desk
This job requires taking money from people who pay the entrance fee for Wednesday Night Swing. Shifts are 45 minutes and as a thank you for volunteering, you get into the dance for free and receive 5$ in Swing Ann Arbor credit!
2. Become a DJ
Do you like the music you’re hearing, and want to both learn more about swing music as well as share your favorite songs? All of our DJs are volunteers, so there are ample opportunities for you to join in each month. If you’re nervous about getting started, all the other DJs are happy to offer advice and sample playlists to help get you up on your feet and going. Talk to one of our DJs at the Wednesday dance to learn more!
3. Help us put up posters and flyers!
If you have classes and or are just looking for a good reason to walk around let everyone know how awesome Swing Ann Arbor is then help put up posters and flyers! If you are interested in volunteering to help please come talk to the front desk to get some flyers to put up around campus!
