Swing Ann Arbor continues to run through the generous support of our community members — be it time, knowledge, or spirit!  Whether through DJing, teaching classes, volunteering at the front desk for Wednesday Night Swing, decorating for events, or just donating time, money, or ideas, we are always in need of volunteers to help make our community stronger and more dynamic.

Interested in giving back to the Swing Ann Arbor community? Come volunteer with us! Here is how you can help:

1. Take a shift at the Front Desk

This job requires taking money from people who pay the entrance fee for Wednesday Night Swing. Shifts are 45 minutes and as a thank you for volunteering, you get into the dance for free and paid $5! If you’re interested in volunteering, please sign up here!

2. Become a DJ

Do you like the music you’re hearing, and want to both learn more about swing music as well as share your favorite songs? All of our DJs are volunteers, so there are ample opportunities for you to join in each month. If you’re nervous about getting started, all the other DJs are happy to offer advice and sample playlists to help get you up on your feet and going. Email us to find out more!

3. Join the Executive Board

Want to take on leadership positions, teach classes and workshops, coordinate events, or work on your social skills? SAA provides an inspiring and welcoming space for you to discover and grow your talents! Consider joining our board! We are always looking for motivated, energetic, fun students! Undergrads are particularly encouraged to join. No previous experience in Swing Dancing needed – just a desire to learn and help out! Contact us if you’d like to get involve!
